... the intensive is how I like to attack issues in my life: head on. We know this is only the beginning, but it gives us more motivation and momentum to keep going in our recovery together. We greatly appreciated the time and effort that you spent to prepare for our intensive. There was a safe atmosphere that allowed me to open up and trust your intent to help us through this difficult time in our lives. I did not feel as though I needed to defend myself. I truly believe that God protected me during this time. As months, weeks, and days lead up to the intensive, my anxiety, fear, and pain increased exponentially. As [my husband] read me his disclosure, I felt God's strong presence letting me know that I would still need to heal from the hurt and scars, but He would shield me from the instantaneous pain. I would not have been able to endure that situation in my own strength. We look forward to working with you again in April."
