Hope and Freedom Educational Scholarships

 

Each year ten recovering persons will be awarded $500 educational scholarships.
Hope and Freedom Educational Scholarships

Purpose: The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage men and women in recovery from sexual addiction to enter college or to continue their education.


Scholarships may be used to pursue education for any undergraduate or graduate degree program at any accredited college or university (including seminary, medical school, or other institution of higher learning).

Eligibility: The scholarships are open to any man or woman who is currently active in SAA, SLAA, SA, or other “S” fellowship.

 

Scholarship Recipients:

  • Recipients will be notified by mail.
  • After notification, scholarship checks will be released upon receipt of a copy of proof of enrollment in college (i.e. tuition receipt, class schedule, etc.).
  • Checks are made out to scholarship recipient and may be used for any educational-related expenses.

 
Houston Area Applicants:

  • Four of the Hope & Freedom Scholarships are set aside for persons living in the greater Houston area (within 100 mile radius of Houston).
  • These scholarships are administered by the Houston Intergroup of SAA.

Additional requirements include:

  •  25 years of age or older.
  •  Must be committed to recovery as a lifestyle.
  •  Have been in recovery from sexual addiction for a minimum of six months.
  •  Must regularly attend a minimum of two 12-step meetings a week in any “S” fellowship
  •  Must have a sponsor and be working on the steps of recovery. (Sponsor must sign application.)
